Reveal Your Abs in 2 Weeks With This Workout!
Abs are the ultimate goal for many people starting their fitness journey. In this article, we'll be talking about how to reveal those abs of yours in only two weeks.
Abs are the ultimate goal for a lot of fitness beginners. There is no better way to show your progress than through the reveal of those six bits of muscle on your stomach. Many people who have lost weight and exercised a lot still wonder why they haven't developed their abs yet. In this article, we'll talk about some proven tips on how to get those abs you've been looking for in only two weeks.
You already HAVE abs!
That's right, you already have abs. The only reason you don't see them is because there is a stubborn layer of fat blocking it from view. You can do all the ab crunches you want, but that fat will continue to hide those toned muscles. There are two things you must remember to get those abs in a short span of two weeks.
Abs Training - (Almost) Everyday!
Set your workout goal to focus solely on abs for the next two weeks. With calisthenics (body weight exercises), you can do this anywhere! Please note that you must refrain from doing this excessively. If your muscle pain gets too much to bear, there is no shame in stopping for a bit.
What's important is that you can start working out again tomorrow, so spread out your energy. You don't have to do it literally everyday, it's more important to know your limits and try harder for the day you do workout. Do what works best for you, because following any routine to the letter may demotivate you from future workouts.
Here is a routine that is accepted by fitness professionals to be a good starting point for ab workouts. With time, it's best to find more advanced routines, but this is the best for most people to start with.
Exercise on 2 sets or more, following the drills below:
- Crunches - Repetitive crunches for 20 seconds
- Rest - 10 to 20 seconds rest, depending on your health
- Leg Raise - Repetitive leg raise for 20 seconds
- Rest - 10 to 20 seconds rest, depending on your health
- Twist Crunches (Obliques) - Repetitive twist crunches for 20 seconds
- Rest - 10 to 20 seconds rest, depending on your health
- V-Sits - Repetitive v-sits for 20 seconds
The drills above are executed by lying down, facing up, as you feel your abs do the work. Two sets are typically good for the day. But if you can do more, then by all means! Remember to maintain your form even when tired, and to breathe properly.
Low Calorie, High Protein, Low Lipid Diet
Takashi Okada, a famous fitness writer in Japan, suggests this list of food to eat and what to eat less during the two-week period. Remember, you don't have to stop eating the food in the "Eat Less" section. Simply don't eat too much of them and prioritize eating from the "Eat More" list. What's important is meeting your calorie deficit goal for the day.
Eat More
- Chicken Breast
- Chicken Tenderloin
- Lean Fish (White)
- Lettuce
- Beef Tenderloin
- Cabbage
- Spinach
- Broccoli
Eat Less
- Fatty Meat
- Dark Fish
- Potatoes
- Root Veggies
- High Fructose Fruits
- Mayonnaise
- Milk
- Sugar
A proper diet is about 70% of the work in gaining abs. Think of it as the forging part of making a sword. Your diet is the melting of metal and the workout is the hammer that forms your shape. The combination of a low calorie, low lipid and high protein diet with a consistent routine is the key to sculpting those abs and shearing off the layer of fat that covers it.
